One-and-a-half million children were murdered in the Holocaust along with their entire families, leaving them without someone to say Mourners’ Kaddish in their name. Their memories are as important today as they were when they were murdered in the Shoah.

Remember A Child, a nationally-known program which was initiated several years ago by then-Beth El President Marvin Adler, z"l, illuminates our duty to remember these children and their families. We've expanded the program so that no Jewish child, who suffered and dies at the hands of our enemies, is ever forgotten.

You can Remember A Child by obtaining an envelope in the sanctuary lobby or contacting the Temple Office. We remember these children by agreeing to recite the Mourner's Kaddish and/or light a yahrzeit candle in memory of your "adopted" child. There are five opportunities to fulfill this mitzvah during each year: the four Yizkor services and on Yom HaShoah.

For more information, contact Susan Bell, Cheryl Finkelstein, or Sheila Israel, co-chairs of the Remember A Child Program.
