Many people affiliate with a synagogue for the opportunity to meet like-minded people and feel that they are part of a community. A great way to make the most of your membership, in addition to attending services, events, and programs, is to actively participate in Temple Beth El’s groups such as Women’s League and Men’s Club.
Women’s League of Temple Beth El
The Women’s League of Temple Beth El is actively involved in support of the temple and community while providing social and educational opportunities for its members. Their many projects and activities for the temple include the gift shop, book club, women’s seder, food at shiva residences, congratulatory cards and well wishes, gifts to b’nai mitzvah, financial support for temple activities, and more. In the community, they collect household items, clothing, and toiletries for The Lord’s Place, a local charity, and have set up a library at Quantum House, a facility where families stay while their children receive medical treatment. New Temple Beth El members receive a complimentary Sisterhood membership for a year.

The Temple Beth El Men’s Club offers opportunities for fellowship and good works. The group meets for breakfast every Sunday after minyan (approximately 10:30 am). The meetings are open to all members and often feature a speaker. Major projects include Remember a Child, the Fishman Youth Fund, and the annual mailing of yellow candles for Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day). Men’s Club members assist as ushers for Shabbat and High Holy Days services, man the grill for member barbecues, provide financial support for temple programs and events, and are actively involved on event committees in support of the temple.
